Welcome to my campaign web site. Here you will find biographical information, my positions on issues, ways you can participate in election activities, and get involved in the campaign. I will be updating this home page with brief legislative and campaign updates on a bi-weekly basis. I will also provide you with links to organizations, activities and candidates that are working to build progressive power in our state and region.

This week, the focus is on two important dates: March 1st, the beginning of the 2006 legislative session, and the March 7th precinct caucuses.

During the early part of the legislative session, I will be attending committee meetings and preparing bills for introduction. As the session begins, I am taking the lead on developing and publicizing legislation in three important areas:

1. Class-size reduction
2. Clean Cars, Energy Efficiency, Global Warming
3. Securing state bonding for priority transit projects

In addition, as the only Minneapolis member of the Local Government Committee, I will be voting on high profile bills related to immigration, eminent domain, clean water projects, and stadiums. Iwill also take a lead role in efforts to address airport noise, as this committee deals with legislation involving the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

As a member of the Transportation Finance Committee, I will have the opportunity to craft the bonding proposals for important highway and transit projects.
